Paint and protective coatings are often viewed as routine maintenance expenses, but their performance can significantly impact long-term reserve planning and capital expenditures. Selecting the appropriate paint system requires evaluating not only the initial cost but also expected service life, maintenance requirements, environmental exposure, and future repaint costs. Understanding these factors allows reserve study professionals to develop more accurate replacement schedules and funding recommendations.

This 90-minute webinar will examine the lifecycle of common paint systems used on residential, commercial, and community association properties, including differences between economy, premium, elastomeric, masonry, wood, and metal coatings. Participants will learn how product selection, surface preparation, climate, and maintenance practices influence longevity and total cost of ownership.
